Best Character Dining at Disney for Girls
Looking to add a character meal to your Disney experience?
If you want more time to spend with your daughter’s favorite princess or fur character, these restaurants make the cut as the best character dining at Disney for girls.
Be warned – be prepared for sticker shock when looking at the cash price.
However, if you have the Disney Dining plan, a meal will cost one dining credit, except for Cinderella’s Royal Table which is 2 credits.
Note: Disney still has not brought back the Disney Dining Plan since 2020.
Remember that children under 3 are free!
Best character dining at Disney World for Girls
1. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
For some reason, this princess character meal is often overlooked. However, we found this to be the BEST meal to interact with all the princesses
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in the Norway pavilion of Epcot. Your reservation starts with your child meeting Belle for a beautiful portrait you get to take home. This is definitely a highlight for any Beauty and The Beast fans because Belle isn’t as accessible as many of the other princesses.
As you are eating, the following princesses will come to your table for pictures and autographs:
- Ariel
- Snow White
- Princess Aurora
- Cinderella
In addition, they lead a dance party around the restaurant for anyone that wants to join in. Princess Aurora came and took Little K by the hand. Needless to say, she was overjoyed!
This is my number one recommendation for any girl wanting to interact with the princesses and one of the best character dining at Disney World experiences we have had. Make sure to brush up on your Disney princess names before going!
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served buffet only while lunch and dinner are a combination of buffet plus table service. Prices range from $35-60 per adult.
2. Cinderella’s Royal Table
Most people believe this to be the epitome of character experiences. In fact, it is the only character dining reservation that requires 2 meals on the Disney Dining Plan.
In my opinion, it is a little overhyped. We were not as thrilled with the meal itself as we were with other character dining experiences.
Nonetheless, we were amazed at entering Cinderella’s Castle. There is a grand staircase by which your child takes a picture with Cinderella before ascending the steps to eat. Everything is decorated in the royal blue color to associate it with the princess that lives there.
Not only is Cinderella present, but the following princesses also make the rounds:
Breakfast:
- Ariel
- Princess Aurora
- Snow White
Lunch and Dinner:
- Princess Jasmine
- Snow White
These princess character meals are a great way to complete your autograph and picture collection. Before we left, I purchased a princess autograph book similar to this one that has a dedicated area for each princess with space to write about your meeting in addition to a photo and autograph space. What a great keepsake!
Cinderella’s Royal Table is definitely more expensive than other meals. However, it does include a picture with the princess and the entire castle experience. This is a table service meal with selections made from a menu.

Prices range from $41 to 68 for a child and $48 – 82 for adults. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served.
3. Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner
How often do you get to see Cinderella with her evil stepmother and sisters? Not often, so make a reservation here at 1900 Park Fare if that’s on your to-do list.
Drisella and Anastasia make the meal. They are hilariously funny in their interactions with each other and with your little one.
Expect to see the following characters for dinner:
- Cinderella
- Prince Charming
- Lady Tremaine
- Anastasia
- Drisella
This Disney character dining experience is only open for dinner. Located in luxurious Grand Floridian Resort, it is easily accessible by monorail and is a nice break from the late afternoon heat at Disney before returning for fireworks.
The buffet costs $32 for kids and $51 for adults as of mid-2019. It uses 1 dining meal credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
4. Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine
Do you have a child that enjoys Princess Sofia, Doc McStuffins and other friends on Disney Jr? If yes, then they will love this Disney character meal.
The breakfast buffet is typical (Mickey waffles, made-to-order omelets, fresh fruit and pastries), but the characters are what make this meal. Besides the Disney Jr dance party, where else can you get individual photos and autographs of all these favorite friends?
Meet and greet with these Disney Junior characters:
- Princess Sofia
- Doc McStuffins
- Vampirina
- Fancy Nancy
- Roadster Racer Goofy
Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios serves up this delicious and lively breakfast. Most kids are under 6 years of age! Cost is $20 per child and $34 per adult.
5. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast
This is for all those Chip and Dale fans out there. Did you know you can tell the difference between them because Chips’ nose is brown like a chocolate chip?
In addition to these mischievous chipmunks, Mickey and Pluto also make the rounds.
The Harvest Feast is found at The Garden Grill – a revolving restaurant in Future World at Epcot. It overlooks the Living with the Land attraction where you can see the ride and scenes from it. In fact, some of the food served is grown in these greenhouses!
This is a family style restaurant where the food is brought to your table. You can ask for seconds (or thirds) of any particular food item. I personally enjoy family style dining because then I am not worried about missing a character if they come by.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Breakfast prices range from $18-34 and lunch/dinner prices are $25-60.
Making reservations for the best character dining at Disney
There are a couple of ways you can make reservations. You can either call 407-939-5277 or hop online at My Disney Experience. Reservations open online 180 days (at 7:00 am EST) ahead.
There is a $10 hold placed on your credit card. It is fully refundable if you cancel more than 24 hours ahead of time.
I strongly suggest planning ahead. While you may luck out with last minute reservations, it is better to plan ahead and secure them ahead of time. Many people change reservations the week before so it is definitely possible to look for different days or times then.
