BREAKING! Disney building a new park!
The Walt Disney Company has officially announced the creation of Disneyland Abu Dhabi, its first-ever theme park in the Middle East and the seventh Disney resort globally.
Located on Yas Island, this groundbreaking project is not only a bold geographical expansion—it’s a vision of the next generation of immersive entertainment.
A Glimpse into Tomorrow: A Modern Disney Castle
At the heart of Disneyland Abu Dhabi will stand Disney’s first modernized castle. Far from the classic European-style castles of the past, this one is envisioned as a futuristic, crystalline spire, designed to reflect the bold innovation of Abu Dhabi and the ever-evolving Disney experience.
Disney CEO Bob Iger calls the project “spectacular,” noting that it will “blend contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology to offer guests deeply immersive entertainment experiences in unique and modern ways.”
Timeline and Development
The project is currently in the early stages of design, with no official opening date announced. However, it is anticipated that the design phase will take 1–2 years, followed by 4–6 years of construction.
This timeline suggests that Disneyland Abu Dhabi could open in the early 2030s.
Yas Island: A Growing Entertainment Hub
Yas Island is already home to several major attractions, including Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and Ferrari World.
The addition of Disneyland Abu Dhabi will further solidify Yas Island’s status as a premier global entertainment destination. Miral’s experience in developing and managing these attractions positions them well to bring the Disneyland Abu Dhabi project to fruition.
While we await the release of official concept art and more detailed plans, the collaboration between Disney and Miral promises an innovative and culturally rich addition to the Disney Parks family.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see all the new technologies this park has!
